Like many companies during COVID-19, our previous employer was sadly forced to close.
However, rather than just look for employment to replace the jobs we had lost, we both followed our hearts, and decided to do something meaningful with the vast expertise
that we have in care support and assistance...
We have created Tyne Valley Health & Wellbeing - a community interest company that puts to good use the skills and experience we have both gained in care support and assistance over the years. Whilst at the same time, engaging those who are hard to reach due to: Social Isolation, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Neurological Conditions (e.g Dementia).
Our approach has been developed around creating strong community links and partnerships with other non profit organisations with similar aims to ours.
Both Michael and Neil have worked for a private domiciliary care company based in Northumberland and Newcastle for a number of years. Michael worked as a supervisor, and has years of experience working with both individuals and their families to support and assist them to continue living their lives - how THEY chose. Despite the limitations of physical or mental ill health.
We aim to provide meaningful activities such as horticulture, bee keeping, small woodwork crafts, and walk and talk groups to mention just a few. It is our hope that once we are fully established we will be able to provide opportunities for young and old to gain employment through micro enterprises.
